Don't Waste Your Money September 9, 2010 C. FORD I just picked up my vacuum cleaner from the repair shop at a cost of $64 for the 4th time since I bought it in March of 2008. I paid $164 for it. I've spent more on repairs than I paid for it. I only have two small bedrooms to vacuum and two 5x7 area rugs. The switch has gone out four times and the belts have had to be replaced four times. This last time the repairman told me that the switch was redesigned in Jan. 2010 and that he would rewire my vacuum cleaner and put in a new switch and that should solve the problem. I think the belts are going out because I am vacuuming on the low setting. It's my feelinig that you must set it to the middle setting or the belts will continue to break. My old Hoover lasted for over 20 years and I only replaced the belts a few times over the 20 years. This new machine is a piece of junk and the next time it breaks I won't waste my money repairing it.
A Very Good Bargain. August 20, 2010 Tom O (Raleigh, NC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We actually have had the identical vacuum before and was very pleased, especially since its the only self-propelled bagged vacuum on the market. So, we were hoping the remanufactured unit would be a good buy. It arrived on time, in good condition. It has been a very good bargain and worked flawlessly. We cannot tell what the original problem would have been, as the unit looks brand new. We inspected every inch of it and as far as we can tell it was new when remanufactured, which would be as expected from a name brand manufacturer. For the price, you could buy four of these before spending what a new one costs.
BELTS BRAKE< SMOKES LIKE CRAZY>No Response from seller August 11, 2010 Myra E. Corwin (Nevada) Ok So I have had this vacuum cleaner for a little over a month I have used it maybe 7 times. Every time I have used this it smokes I have very low carpet and have it set on the medium height. Today I started vacuuming and it was fine for a moment then the roller quit working and the machine started smoking ALOT. I am very disappointed that my belt has broke. I don't understand the whole smoking every-time I vacuum. Have replaced belts same thing...Contacted seller no response....I strongly believe in Hoover but if this has been re-manufactured and there is still a problem it needs to be taken care of.....I guess I will have to go back to my good old faithful Kenmore canister that I have had for over 9 years.....I don't usually write reviews...but lets see if Amazon publishes this...they took that last review of mine off...Time to get Honest....
I am impressed! April 11, 2010 Kim (Bull's Eye - USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I love my WindTunnel! I wanted to write a review right away but decided i would give this vacuum cleaner the run for the money first, on our 6 bedroom home, 2 dogs.. (woah). I have had it for 6 months now.. time for the review!
The suction is A+ great, and the noise complained about by other reviews is nothing unusually loud - when i turn on a vacuum cleaner i expect to hear it =). I have never seen a silent vacuum cleaner.
The self-propelled feature is marvelous, and removes the strain of vacuuming large areas. One of my favorite features (my back no longer cries for mercy).
The hose - i have read some complaints about the short hose.
Here is my take on it:
The hose is a perfect length. Its tight and secures to the body neatly and does not bulk down the easiness of vacuuming with a vacuum with a hose built into its body. The attachment tubing (there are two), fit neatly on the side, securely, too, i might add, are very appropriate for lengthening the hose when needed, to reach the hard to get areas close to the ceiling, or behind large furniture.
I honestly would never by a vacuum cleaner with a build in hose that is longer than what this vacuum is equipped with. Would you want to tote along a huge hose every time you pulled out the vacuum? the length is perfect, and fits snugly to the body.. a longer length would be constantly falling off the body, and be a bulky pain in the butt. The hose plus the two tube attachments is very sufficient for my needs.
(There is an extra-long attachment hose which can be purchased separately, and i love that it does not come attached to the vacuum and that it can be stored separately from the main body of the vacuum.)
The design of this vacuum, concerning the hose, is perfect - I am still trying to imagine vacuuming with a built-in 20 ft hose - as seems the wishes of some!
The bags are excellent quality, very large, easy and neat to change, no dusty residue left behind. (I purchased them on Amazon, too).
The detector-lights feature that let you know when the vacuum is not accumulating any more dirt from an area you are vacuuming is awesome -love this feature.
Over-all:
the performance is very satisfactory.. i would expect to get this type of performance and well thought out design from nothing less than a $500+ vacuum.
The over-all design is magnificent- obviously very well thought through and tested for the consumers' needs.
Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen - Here it is: the WindTunnel was not just created to be another fast way to the money of consumers. The Wind Tunnel comes through with flying colors on everything it promises to consumers. Its got what I want - no bulkiness, no baggage, very good quality, eficent design, very good price.
I am very pleased.
Great vacuum March 25, 2010 Sue in Florida (Florida, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was a bit nervous about ordering. Read the reviews (and thanks)and decided to give it a try..especially for the price. I paid over $200 for my push Wind Tunnel 15 years ago. Wow what a wonderful difference. Works great and not nearly the wear and tear on my back. Pet tool works great on my sofas and chair. I actually want to vacuum more.
Parts were all there and nothing broken. Came with a much heavier bag than before. So save yourself some money in this recession/depression and get this little wonder product. If it lasts just a few years it will have paid for itself. It shipped on time and box was intact.
